Truck runs school bus off the road on 61 South

An accident occurred on Highway 61 South involving a truck with a trailer and a Vicksburg-Warren School District bus from Warrenton Elementary.

The bus was exiting Grandview onto 61 South, southbound when a truck with a trailer entered its lane and collided with the school bus. The driver of the truck with a trailer pulled over and assisted the bus driver and children after the accidental collision.

No serious injuries were reported by the students or drivers, however, one parent had their child transported to the emergency room to be checked out. The bus was exiting Grandview onto 61 South, southbound when a truck with a trailer entered its lane and collided with the school bus.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has control of the scene and was assisted by Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and Warren County firefighters Marquis Holmes and Tim Wood. Two fire medic units arrived to check out the children along with a host of bystanders and concerned citizens who all stopped to assist.
