Severe weather expected late Friday into overnight hours

Residents across most of the state are being urged to take necessary precautions due to an increased risk for tornadoes from late Friday afternoon into the overnight hours.

The Vicksburg and Warren County area is currently under moderate risk of severe weather, including the possibility of tornadoes, damaging winds and hail. Residents in this area are advised to take extra precautions to ensure their safety.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday night, mainly before 1 a.m. It is possible that some of these storms could be severe, so it is recommended that residents stay weather aware.
