Desi LeDale Smith, 1964 – 2023

Desi LeDale Smith was born December 24, 1964, to the late Dinah and Milton Smith.

He worked several jobs, but he spent the last 19 years at Batesville Casket Company.

He loved to have fun and be around family. He loved participating in family cookouts. Desi was a friendly and good-hearted person.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dinah and Milton Smith; two sisters, Susie Williams and Tamzella Smith; three brothers, Milton Smith, Jr., Jerry Smith, and Kenny Ray Smith; one son, Desi Smith, all of Vicksburg, MS.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his two sisters, Josephine Smith and Theresa Smith; two brothers, Tyler Smith (Melva) and Marvin Smith, all in Vicksburg, MS; one auntie, Theresa Fairchild in Chicago, IL; one grandchild, Dessica Smith in Waterloo, IA; two stepsons, Dedric and Jason Chandler; special friend, Gracey Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews including the Carson, Fairchild and Spates families.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Desi LeDale Smith on May 13, 2023, 2:00 PM at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church, 2715 Alcorn Dr., Vicksburg, MS .

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS on May 12, 2023 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM with family present from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Desi L. Smith transitioned on May 4, 2023 at the age of 58.
