Joe Johnson Jr. helped VUU win a CIAA North Division title

Vicksburg native Joe Johnson Jr. helped Virginia Union University capture a CIAA North Division title on Saturday.

Johnson, who is the starting fullback, helped block for VUU’s offense that rushed for nearly 200 yards in the 30-20 win over Virginia State University.

Johnson is a graduate of Vicksburg High School and VUU will play for the CIAA Championship on Saturday against Fayetteville State University.
