VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —

Vicksburg native Jalen Davenport placed first in the Central Collegiate Regional Powerlifting Meet on November 18.

Davenport, who attends Blue Mountain Christian University, competed in the 220 pound weight class where he squatted 766 pounds, bench pressed 440 and deadlifted 644.The meet was held in Fremont, Nebraska.

Davenport is a senior at BMC and he is a graduate of Warren Central High School.
