Warren Central High School graduate Abigail Morgan has made the decision to take her softball talents to the University of Memphis.

Morgan, who had initially signed with Holmes CC, announced her decision via Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

Morgan had an outstanding senior season as she led WC to the second round of the playoffs as she threw 174 strikeouts on the year. She was also named as VDN’s Softball Player of the Year.

Morgan played under head coach Dana McGivney at WC where she was one of three seniors to sign a softball scholarship. She also plays for the Impact Gold-Kimzey 18U travel ball team.

Morgan excelled on the field and in the classroom as she recently graduated with a 4.7 GPA.

After racking up offers from Delta State University, Millsaps, The University of Mississippi for Women, Lake Land College, University of North Alabama, Christian Brothers University, Polk State College, and a host of other schools, Morgan found a home at Memphis.

VDN will continue to follow Morgan’s success.
