Alcorn women’s soccer team claimed their first NCAA non-conference road win

Alcorn State University made school history on Sunday when they defeated East Texas Baptist 2-1 to claim an NCAA non-conference road win.

The Lady Braves got their first goal in the opening half from Samara Nunn who was assisted by Ha’Teya Holloman. They remained with a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

East Texas Baptist responded in the second half with a goal from Kayla Nichols to toe the game at 1-1.

The second goal for the Lady Braves went to D’Ana Prieto who was assisted by Nunn.

Keeper Paula Argelaguet was also instrumental in the win. She was credited for many saves throughout the game.

ASU will play again on Sep. 13 against Nicholls State.
