Alcorn’s Amari Ramsey named as SWAC Softball Player of the Year

Alcorn State University softball player Amari Ramsey has been named the SWAC Player of the Year.

Ramsey, a Gulfport native, has been leading the Lady Braves all season with a .325 batting average, 15 run scores, and 24 hits.

Not only did she win the SWAC Player of the Year Award, but Ramsey was also named to the All-SWAC First Team.

On Tuesday, Ramsey will be returning to her hometown of Gulfport to lead the Braves the SWAC Championship Tournament against Texas Southern as they are aiming to bring home a well deserved win.
