Vicksburg native Anthony Lumpkin Sr. has been named as the head coach of St. Aloysius boys basketball team.

Lumpkin, a former Warren Central standout, has been a trainer in Vicksburg for many years now and has helped multiple athletes gain college scholarships.

Lumpkin is thrilled about the new opportunity he has earned and is ready to build the Flashes into a successful program.

“I’m excited for this new opportunity and looking forward to changing the culture of the program,” Lumpkin said.
With Lumpkin’s 10 years of experience playing professional basketball in the U.S and overseas, he will have no problem laying down the knowledge to his upcoming players to begin the process of rebuilding the team.
Lumpkin will now take over the Flashes who was last coached by Mike Coleman, who will stay on as the girls head coach.
As he now begins process rebuilding, Lumpkin knows that he has plenty of work to do but he is fully prepared to take on this job as a head coach with the Vicksburg community supporting him.
VDN will be looking forward to covering Lumpkin’s upcoming success with the Flashes next season.
