Dr. John Witcher, founder of an anti-vaccine mandate group and emergency physician, was fired from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Yazoo City after replacing patients’ COVID-19 treatments with ivermectin.

According to SunHerald, Witcher was fired on Friday after replacing FDA approved COVID-19 medication with ivermectintreatments for three patients.

Witcher is the founder of a group of nine physicians who are against hospital COVID-19 vaccine requirements. The group has allegedly spread false information about COVID-19 online and purchased advertising and attended anti-mandate rallies.

In a video posted on YouTube, Witcher states he felt he had the option of changing the patients treatment and did not know he was going against hospital policy.

Baptist Memorial states Witcher was an independent physician and not an employee of the hospital.
