A Claiborne County man was denied bail after a Saturday court hearing.

Tyrese Craft was denied bail by Judge Odom earlier today after being charged with manslaughter by negligence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Craft is accused of leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in the death of Shakelia Ellis. He was taken into custody on Thursday at River Region while seeking treatment for his injuries.

He was arrested by Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department with assistance from the Vicksburg Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary hearing is set for December 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
