Belzoni, Mississippi prepares for 46th Annual World Catfish Festival on Apr. 1
Belzoni, Mississippi, known as the “Catfish Capital of the World” since 1976, is preparing to host the 46th annual World Catfish Festival. The one-day festival will take place on Apr. 1, drawing in over 10,000 visitors from across the state to celebrate the town’s unique heritage.
The downtown area will be bustling with more than 150 arts and crafts vendors, showcasing various items from artwork to spice blends. The festival will also feature live music performances, including Blues, Country, and Gospel.
The highlight of the festival, however, will undoubtedly be the catfish. Local restaurants will serve up this popular fish, allowing visitors to indulge in Belzoni’s most famous dish.
The World Catfish Festival has become a long-standing tradition for the town, drawing in visitors from all over the state to experience the lively event. With the festival only a few weeks away, preparations are in full swing to make sure it’s a success.
