Friday is a big night in the River City for high school football as each local team will face a significant challenge.

Vicksburg High School:

The Gators will hit the road to face Neshoba Central in their first district game.

VHS (4-1) defeated Yazoo City two weeks ago, while Neshoba (1-4) earned their first win last week in a 28-13 victory over Canton.

Warren Central:

The Vikings will celebrate homecoming on Friday as they host Ridgeland. The Titans (2-3) are led by former VHS Head Coach Todd McDaniel.

WC (3-2) took down Madison Central a couple of weeks ago in a 24-21 win.

Porter’s Chapel:

The Eagles (8-0) remain undefeated and will host the undefeated Sharkey-Issaquena Academy (7-0), who blew out Tallulah Academy 54-22 in their last game.

PCA came in with some heat as they destroyed Hillcrest 58-16.

St. Aloysius:

The Flashes are still searching for their first win as they will be on the road to face Columbia Academy (2-5).

St. Al took a 21-0 loss to Riverfield on Friday, but they have high hopes for their next competition.

Game time for each match is at 7 p.m. on Friday, and VDN will provide updates after each one is finished.
