Boyfriend charged in pregnant woman’s death

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March confirmed earlier today that Terrence Sample, 33, is in police custody.

Holmes County Deputies booked Sample into the Holmes-Humphreys County Regional Correctional Facility Monday night. He has since been charged with murder and capital murder in the death of Makayla Winston. His application for bond was denied.

Winston, 21, was nine months pregnant and due July 4. Her body was discovered Monday. The young woman was last seen by her family in Holmes County on Thursday, June 27, when she reportedly went to visit Sample to show him sonogram images of their unborn baby.
