Brown arrested for the murder of former Vicksburg resident

BJ Brown, the man accused of killing former Vicksburg resident, Cassandra Jones, was taken into custody Wednesday morning in Tennessee.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Iberville Street in New Orleans. The incident was captured on video. The suspect, identified as Brown, is seen brutally shooting Jones as she lay helpless. The incident sparked a manhunt which eventually led to Tennessee.

While in Tennesee, Brown was stopped by an Erin police officer. Brown shot the officer and fled the scene.

Wednesday morning, Brown was apprehended by Erin police officers, putting an end to the manhunt.
