New England Patriots football player Malcolm Butler has been placed on injured reserve after a hip injury.

Butler, a Vicksburg native, is in his first season back in football after sitting out in 2021 and was recently participating in the preseason. The injury to Butler is a big loss to the Patriots’ organization as he is responding for helping the team win the Super Bowl in 2015 after an amazing interception.

Butler was on a two-year contract with the Patriots before the injury and he has also played for the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals.

Butler is a graduate of Vicksburg High School.
