Ceasar “Hotts” Thomas, 1933 – 2022

A celebration of Life for Ceasar “Hotts” Thomas will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, at C.J. Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, from 1 to 6 p.m.
Mr. Ceasar Thomas, Jr. was born on Oct. 6, 1933 in Jefferson County to the late Ceasar Thomas, Sr. and Rosey Lee Marshall Thomas.
Mr. Thomas confessed to Christ at an early age in Jefferson County. Ceasar left Jefferson County, relocating to Chicago, Illinois where he lived for several years before moving to Vicksburg, MS.
He was employed at the Vicksburg Seed Store before losing his sight.
Ceasar joined Greater Grove Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J. L. Brown. He attended the School for the Blind in Meridian, MS for two years, where he was taught different skills that included broom and mop making.
Mr. Thomas was blind but very independent. His hobbies were cutting grass, traveling to visit relatives and doing household chores.
On Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 10:50 a.m. Ceasar Thomas, Jr. was given his new sight to travel the streets paved of gold. He was united with his parents, Ceasar Thomas, Sr. and Rosa Lee Thomas; his sister Bessie Mae Brown; his brother Percy Chambers and his nephew James Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories his niece and caregiver Mary Marshall; his nephews Charley Brown (Della), Edward Brown, Jr. (Alice), Darrell Brown, and Herbert Brown; his nieces Patricia Hayes, Sadie Williams and Rose Williams and a host of cousins, great nieces, nephews and friends.
