CO2 leak closes Highway 3 near Satartia

A CO2 gas leak near Satartia has caused officials to shut down state Highway 3.
Just after 8:30 p.m., officials in Yazoo County were notified a CO2 line had failed causing toxic gas to leak into the atmosphere. Officials are on their way to the scene to assess the situation.
Warren County emergency staff have been put on standby in case their services are needed.
A similar event occurred near Satartia on Feb. 22 of this year when a 24-inch pipeline burst causing numerous injuries and evacuations for several miles.
