Curtis named Most Valuable Lifter on VHS powerlifting team

Tommy Curtis III was selected as Vicksburg’s High School Most Valuable Lifter on the Gator Powerlifting team.

Curtis lifted in the 220 pound weight class this season under head coach Jimbo Nowell, where the team won the class 5A state title.

Curtis was also one of the few chosen as a Red Carpet Bowl Scholarship recipient.

Not only did Curtis shine in the weight room, but he was also Vicksburg Daily News Defensive Player of the Year. He will soon take his talents to Belhaven University on a football scholarship.
