Davenport commits to Blue Mountain College powerlifting team

Jalen Davenport, Warren Central High School powerlifter and football player,  has verbally committed to Blue Mountain College powerlifting team.

Davenport lifts in the 242 weight class for the Vikings, and he reached the MHSSA 6A North State meet in March this past season, where he finished in second place.

Davenport finished the season lifting a total of 1,405 pounds combined in all categories. He lifted 580 pounds in squat, 510 pounds in deadlift and 310 pounds in bench press.

As a football player for the Vikings, Davenport made the Vicksburg Daily News all county defensive team. He helped the Vikings to a 6-6 record and finished his senior year with 39 tackles and three sacks.
