Davenport finished in second place at a national powerlifting meet

Vicksburg native and former Warren Central High School powerlifter Jalen Davenport finished in second place at the Equip National Powerlifting Meet over the weekend.

Davenport, who lifted a total of 1,861, bench pressed 451 pounds, squatted 766 and hit 644 on deadlift. He also earned his Pro Card which means he can compete for money.

Davenport is a senior at Blue Mountain College.
