Dennis Battle Jr.: The fear-inducing linebacker primed for 2023
Last updated:
Rising junior Dennis Battle Jr. took the last season by storm, becoming a highly feared linebacker. Now, he’s ready for more action with the Gators.
“We got good potential and a great team so I know we can go all the way this year,” Battle said.
In 2022, as a sophomore, Battle racked up 96 tackles, intercepted three passes, and achieved three sacks in that dominating defense, which was led by Christopher Lacey, who is now the head coach of VHS.
“I did pretty good last year but it’s going to be bigger improvements made this year because I’m getting better and stronger,” Battle added.
Dennis Battle Jr. has been undergoing intense summer training with his position coaches, Lacey and Skooter Wells. Like most of the Gators, he envisions even greater success for VHS in 2023.
“We want to go all the way so we can win district and state,” Battle said.
