Cori Clay is celebrating more than just Independence Day this evening, and her view right now is more spectacular than any fireworks show.

After a freak golf cart accident Thursday that resulted in her 11-year-old daughter, Addie Grace, to be airlifted to Batson Children’s Hospital with a traumatic brain injury, Clay and other family and friends have spent a terrifying, sleepless weekend rallying around the young girl.

“God is so good!,” Cori said. “He performed a miracle with my little girl!”

Addie has been moved from PICU to a step-down room at Batson, and has been up talking, smiling, and reading cards from church members and other loved ones.

Addie has a long way to go, but she is expected to make a complete recovery.

We at Vicksburg Daily News are not alone today as we celebrate not only our nation’s freedom, but a tough little girl and her amazing recovery.
