Flag commission to select final design for November ballot Wednesday

The nine-member Commission to Redesign the Mississippi State Flag is scheduled to select its final design Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for a new state flag.

The commission has spent a month culling designs from among about 3,000 submitted for consideration.

Its finalist will be presented to the governor and state Legislature Thursday, and will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot for a yes/no vote. If the voters reject the design, the process will begin again for another vote in 2021.
