Flashes split wins at Thursday’s scrimmage

St. Aloysius football team split wins against Holmes County Central and Canton Academy during a scrimmage on Thursday.

Holmes County Christian:

The Flashes came out running running the ball heavy as Thompson Fortenberry picked up major yards. As they marched the ball down the field, quarterback Carson Smith hit Robert Lee on a quick pass slant inside the 5-yard line. Fortenberry scored on a short run on the next play.

Defensively, Caleb Tucker, Fortenberry made some big hits in the backfield along with Damien Reeves.

Fortenberry ended the game with over 60 rushing yards and a touchdown while Smith completed 6 of 8 passes for 80 yards.

The Flashes ended the game with a 6-0 win against HCC.

Canton Academy:

The Flashes took a 14-0 loss against the defending state champions. They will open their season against Adams County Christian School on Aug. 18.
