Former Hinds County District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith passed away on Friday.

Smith was hospitalized last week after a car crash left him in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Before an unsuccessful bid for Governor in 2019, Smith served three terms as Hinds County District Attorney.
