Former Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead has provided lunch to police officers in Starkville.

The Starkville Police Department thanked Moorhead in a Twitter post for his generous donation.

“You’re very welcome. Keep up the great work. My family and I are very appreciative of everything you have done and continue to do for the community. Particularly in this time of uncertainty. God Bless,” Moorhead wrote in response.

During his two seasons at MSU, Moorhead was known for delivering gifts to children as Christmas presents.

Moorhead was the head coach of the Mississippi State University Bulldogs for two seasons before he was fired earlier this year. He went 14-12 as head coach and 0-2 in bowl games.

Moorhead is now the offensive coordinator at the University of Oregon.
