As former Vicksburg High School wide receiver Alec Bailey enters his redshirt sophomore season at Alcorn State University, he will be playing a new position.

Back in 2017, Bailey led the Gators with 25 receptions, 281 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, and two rushing touchdowns. Bailey helped lead the Gators to a playoff appearance in 2017 where he was quarterback Joe Johnson Jr.’s key target on the offensive side of the ball.

Bailey entered ASU in 2018 where he was redshirted in his freshmen year. In the 2019 season, he played wide receiver for the Braves as the team won its second consecutive SWAC Championship.

This coming season Bailey will be playing in a new position as he was switched to playing running back. He will be fighting for playing time as he adjusts to his new position this fall, which will mark his redshirt sophomore year.

It has been a while since Bailey has run the football but with his quickness and athleticism, he should fit right in with the champion Braves when he gets on the field.
