Former Warren Central High School football player Keonte Lumpkin led the Jackson State University football team in tackles in a 34-14 loss to Southern University on Saturday.

Lumpkin finished with a total of 14 tackles in a tough game for the Tigers.

Ten of the fourteen tackles were solo tackles and managed to snag up many of the Jaguars players.

Lumpkin is currently a junior linebacker playing under Head Coach Deion Sanders and is continuing to make a huge impact on the Tigers football program.

Lumpkin and JSU will host Alabama A&M on April 10 where they will be seeking a victory after losing their second straight match.
