Vicksburg native Aniya Sanders led Copiah-Lincoln Community College in points on Thursday in a tough 56-53 loss to Meridian CC.

Sanders scored 18 points in the game as Meridian couldn’t stop her excellent playing style. She also managed to grab seven rebounds in a match where her team fell just shy of a win.

Sanders is now averaging a team high of 14.0 points per game as a freshman. Last year, Sanders starred at Warren Central High School under head coach Darian Hillard. She was also selected as the VDN 2020 Girl’s Basketball Player of the Year.

Sanders will lead the Lady Wolves onto the court on Monday as they face Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi, at 6:00 p.m.
