Four hunters took down the largest alligator ever officially recorded in Mississippi over the weekend.

Tanner White, Don Woods, Will Thomas and Joey Clark caught the 802.5 pound monster while hunting on the Yazoo River. They would spend hours into the next morning attempting to capture it and they finally did at around 3:30 a.m. He measured at 14 feet and 3 inches.

Alligator hunting season officially started on Friday in Mississippi.
