Freshmen Gators grabbed an overtime victory over WC on Monday

Vicksburg High School’s ninth grade boys basketball team grabbed a 38-33 win over Warren Central on Monday night.

The Vikings controlled the first half of the game by going up 19-11 at halftime.

Mincer Minor IV put up 11 points for VHS and Kristopher Washington knocked down three three-pointers to finish with nine while Dennis Battle added eight.

On the Vikings side, Decorey Knight Jr scored 11 and LJ Reynolds added five.

The game remained close throughout the night and eventually went into overtime.

In OT, the Gators secured some key free throws, along with great defensive plays, to finish with the victory.
