Gators improve to 7-0 after defeating Brandon

Vicksburg High School boy’s basketball made a comeback to defeat Brandon 71-69 and remain undefeated.

The first quarter started off rough for the Gators as they trailed 24-13. The Bulldogs also had the momentum with a decent halftime lead later on in the game.

Things would pick up in the second half for VHS as Davian Williams knocked down two 3-pointers and Malik Franklin pitched in six points in the third quarter.

Williams would get hot again in the fourth quarter as he hit  three more 3-pointers along with a few regular shots to help the Gators pull off the win. He finished with 31 points on the night.

Franklin scored 14 points and Markel Derby added 10 followed by Jalen Banks who put up eight. Kealon Bass also scored four points.

The Gators will play again in the River City Challenge on Monday.

The Missy Gators took a 70-64 loss to Brandon.
