Head on collision leaves one dead, two seriously injured

One Warren County resident is dead, two more are severely injured following a head-on collision on Highway 27.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., a Honda Accord and a Toyota pickup truck were involved in a head-on collision on Highway 27 in the northbound lane. The crash took place near its intersection with Paxton Road. The Honda crossed fully into the northbound lanes striking the Toyota. The driver of both vehicles were taken to Merit Health River Region and one of them was transported via AirCare helicopter to UMMC in serious condition.
Traffic was quickly diverted around the scene, allowing first responders to quickly and safely assist the crash victims.
Multiple first responders arrived, including Warren County Sheriff’s Investigator Stacy Rollison, who was one of the first on the scene and was able to radio in the seriousness of the crash. The passenger of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner Doug Huskey.
