University of Southern Mississippi head football coach Jay Hopson is still without a offensive coordinator for the Golden Eagles.

USM’s former offensive coordinator, Buster Faulkner, left last month after one season with the Golden Eagles to take a job with the University of Georgia.

Hopson is going into his fifth season at USM, and during his tenure, he has had to fill many coaching vacancies. Last season, he led the Golden Eagles to a 7-6 record, and he is expected to have a great offense this year with the return of key players such as quarterback Jack Abraham and Quez Watkins.

USM will open the season off at home vs. South Alabama on Sept. 5, 2020.
