Hubert ‘Willie’ Willis, 1939 – 2019

Hubert “Willie” Willis died on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center at the age of 80.

Willie was born on Jan. 31, 1939, the son of Samuel E. and Ella Mae Rae Willis. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Vicksburg Business Machines for 42 years. He was a singer and songwriter of gospel songs and sang in local churches and nursing homes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother James Willis and sister Ruth Herren.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Faye Willis; daughters, Teri Dallacosta (Andy) and Tena Jankowski (Mike); son, Troy Willis (Crystal); step-son, Ken Graham (Sarah); sister, Dot Roy; brother, Ed Willis (Cheryl); 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Turner officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
