Remains of a missing Fayette man found in Smith County

The remains of a missing Fayette man were found last week in Smith County.
25-year-old Rasheem Ryelle Carter was the man found on Wednesday just south of Taylorsville in a wooded area. Before his remains were found, Carter was last seen outside of a Super 8 Hotel on Oct. 2 in Laurel.
Carter’s remains was taken to the Mississippi Crime Lab for DNA confirmation.
