Jackson State basketball picks up a major recruit from Louisiana

Jackson State University basketball team signed Louisiana-Lafayette transfer Calvin Temple who is a major addition to the Tigers.

“Calvin is a scoring combo guard that can play both guard positions and can shoot the ball and create off the dribble for himself as well as teammates. We are excited to have him at Jackson State,” JSU head coach Wayne Brent said in a statement.

Temple is a 2019 graduate of Center Hill High School in Olive Branch, Mississippi, where he lead his team to a 5A state Championship. Temple averaged 21.4 points per game in his senior year.

He played his freshman college season at Louisiana-Lafayette last year and averaged 3.2 points per game.
