Jefferson County girl’s basketball team

Jefferson County High girl’s basketball team defeated Porter’s Chapel Academy 51-38 on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers went up 13-6 in the first quarter as Jaliah Pree hit a couple of shots for JC. They extended their lead to 20-9 by halftime after Zy Smith knocked down a 3-pointer.

The Lady Tigers played tough defense in the third quarter as they only allowed PCA to score three points while Smith continued to get JC on the board.

Anjel Walton, Tierra Sims, and Emily Muirhead came away with some shots late in the game for PCA while Clark and Daiyondra Banks stepped up for JC.

Smith led with 23 points followed by Jaliah Pree who added 11. Clark put up six points and Banks added five.

Walton and Sims both put up 13 points for PCA and Hannah Henderson contributed five. Emily Muirhead also had four.
