[Editor’s Note] In a correction to the original story below, Captain Jimmy Cogan has served for 37 years and began his career in 1984.

The City of Vicksburg recognized Captain Jimmy Cogan for his 30 years of service to the citizens of Warren County.

The recognition came from Mayor George Flaggs Jr., Northward Alderman Michael Mayfield and Southward Alderman Alex Monsour at the Mayor and Board of Alderman meeting on Tuesday.

Cogan began his career at the Vicksburg Fire Department in 1991. Since the start of his career, his dedication to public safety has never waivered.

This recognition serves as a small token to show that it is people like Cogan who makes Vicksburg a better place.
