Warren Central’s softball team took a close 4-3 loss to Pearl on Thursday in the district opener.

Both teams struggled to get scores during the beginning of the game, but Pearl managed to get three scores in the fourth inning.

The Lady Vikes got back into the game after Sarah Cameron Fancher singled and Jenn Smith doubled to narrow the Pirates lead to 3-2. They eventually tied things at three after Makayla Jackson got a RBI.

After scoring on an error in the seventh, Pearl took home the win.

Smith and Lola Crozier led WC in hits with two each. Annalyn Nevels and Abby Morgan both struck out three batters.
