Lady Vikes defeated Jim Hill 50-33 on Tuesday

Warren Central High School girl’s basketball team remains undefeated after beating Jim Hill  50-33 on Tuesday.

“I feel like we played good but we could’ve did a better job communicating on defense but we got the win,” Jae’la Smith said.

The Lady Vikes came out hot by taking the 18-5 lead after big shots from Kayleigh Karel, Zion Harvey, and Jae’la Smith.

By halftime, WC was up 29-13 with the help of Beatrice Porter who knocked down a big 3-pointer.

Coming out of halftime, WC stayed in control in control of the game with tough defense and productive offense.

In the final quarter of play, the Lady Vikes easily maintained their lead and took home the victory with Smith leading the way with 12 points.

Porter scored seven points in the win and Bre McDowell added six while Harvey contributed eight. Karel also put up five points.

WC is now 2-0 on the year under Head Coach Pooh Robinson and they will host Ridgeland next Tuesday.

“I’m ready to be 3-0 after the next game and I know that we all are ready,” Smith said.
