Mr. Lawrence Roy Muirhead 92 Vicksburg, Ms passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at his home surrounded by his close loved ones.

Mr. Muirhead was born in Gould, Arkansas on October 5, 1930, to the late Lee Roy and Ruth Myers Muirhead.

Lawrence grew up in Vicksburg Mississippi where he attended Jet high school. He joined the United States Navy in October 1948 and honorably discharged September 1959. He proudly served this country during the Korean War Where he was a EMP1 electrician.

On February 6, 1953, he married his loving wife Audrey Dean Oser Muirhead. They were married 63 years before her passing in 2016.

Lawrence worked at US Rubber Reclaiming and later went to work at GNB battery as a maintenance supervisor where he retired in 1993 after 20 years.

Lawrence loved fishing he took his wife and grandson Larry fishing every Saturday for many years. He continued to share his love and passion for building and repairing everything up to the very last day. He was always in his shop with his grandsons and their friends helping and watching them work on mud trucks. He had a special love for each and every one of them and loved helping and teaching them in any way he could. His wisdom and knowledge will be missed dearly.

Lawrence is survived by his sisters Katherine Poole of Vicksburg, Ms and Sally Joe Myers. Two children Darlene Muirhead and Lee Roy Muirhead a Vicksburg, Ms. Five grandchildren Larry (Stacy) Hartley, Chris (Amiee) Hartley, Barbara Ann (Macky) Taylor all of Vicksburg, Ms. James (Shelli) Hartley of Sials, Al. and Roy Muirhead of Hot Springs, Ar.; 8 great-grandchildren, Magen Hartley, Jordan Hartley, Braxton Hartley, Cody (Angela) Spelich all of Vicksburg, Ms. Summer (Blake) Watkins of Raymond, Ms. Katie Hartley and Chloe Hartley  of Natchez, Ms. and Malachi Hartley of Siala, Al.; 4 great-great grandchildren, Brayden Hartley, Drake Bost, Bree Spelich all of Vicksburg, Ms. and Miles Watkins of Raymond, Ms.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Lee Roy and Ruth Muirhead. His sister Elizabeth Williams. His wife Audrey Dean Muirhead. His granddaughter Michelle Muirhead. And great grandson Lee Roy Muirhead III.

Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home at 12:00 pm until the hour of the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow directly after service at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Larry Hartley, Chris Hartley, James Hartley, Jordan Hartley, Braxton Hartley, Brayden Hartley, Cody Spelich, Perry Mullen and Alan Parsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Muirhead, Dr. Todd Shaffett not only his Dr. but his buddy and angel on earth. Christie Morgan, Christie Martin, Aretha Miller and staff of St. Joseph Hospice. Heather Jackson of Amedisys Home Health. John Storey of Battlefield Drug.
