Louis Smith McDaniel, 1945 – 2019

Louis Smith McDaniel, age 74, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2019.

He was born in Yazoo county on May 15, 1945, but resided in Redwood, Miss., for the rest of his years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry, and his parents Georgie and James.

His is survived by his children, Louis “Buck” Jr., Melissa “Missy” Christian and son in law, Shag, and Christopher; his grandchildren Haleigh, Brannan, Danyelle, Michelle, Brandon, Samantha, Jacob, Sarah, Jessica and Austin; his great grand kids Parker, Austin, Paisley, Joshua, Kale and Karris; his brother and sisters Bert, Charles, Carl, Dot and Dinkey; and as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He was an honorable veteran, serving in the army during Vietnam. He worked for the International Paper Mill for 39 years, retiring in 2008. He was an amazing man, willing to help anyone who asked.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. with visitation starting at 9 a.m. The service will be at Glenwood Funeral Home and the burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The pallbearers will include Alton, Lamar Jr., JT Jr., Bert Jr., James and Timmy. Honorary pallbearers are Katina Nowell, Kurt Harris and Daniel Ainsworth. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend. His love and memories will live on.
