Louisiana man arrested after authorities discover stolen catalytic converters following chase, crash

Hattiesburg police arrested a 19-year-old Louisiana man after a chase and crash revealed the suspect was in possession of stolen catalytic converters.

According to a report by Darkhorse Press, Hattiesburg police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on suspect Terrance Bright of Terrytown, LA, at around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday.

According to the report, Bright did not stop and instead began to flee. A chase ensued which led from Main Street to West Pine Street. Bright turned off his headlights and crashed into a building.

Officers discovered multiple catalytic converters, saws, blades and ski masks within the crashed vehicle.

Both Bright and a passenger were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Bright was subsequently charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and felony eluding.
