Malcolm Butler considering retirement while dealing with personal situation

Arizona Cardinals football player and Vicksburg native Malcolm Butler is considering retiring from the NFL as he is reportedly dealing with a personal situation.

The news was reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who confirmed that Butler has been away from the Cardinals’ facility for the past week.

Butler recently signed with Arizona over the summer after agreeing to a $6 million contract for the 2021-2022 season. Early in his career, he played for the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans where he won two Super Bowls.

Butler is currently 31 years old and is entering his eighth year in the NFL.
