Malcolm Butler gets released from the Tennessee Titans
Last updated:
Vicksburg native and Tennessee Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler is being released from the team.
The Tennessee Titans are releasing Malcolm Butler, cornerback for the Titans, according to a report from ESPN.
According to reports, Butler’s agent Derek Simpson has informed ESPN that Butler is being released from the Titans, which will cut short a five-year contract by two years.
Speculation is that it is a cost-cutting move, designed to clear cap space. It would save the Titans $10.2 million and cost $4 million in ‘dead money’.
Malcom Butler is a 2009 graduate of Vicksburg High School and played collegiate football at the University of West Alabama. He played for the new England Patriots from 2014 – 2017 and the Tennessee Titans from 2018 – 2020.
This is a developing story and Vicksburg Daily News will provide updates as they come in.
