Mississippi State Fair will go on as scheduled
The Mississippi State Fair will go on as scheduled in October with precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andy Gipson, Mississippi’s commissioner of agriculture and commerce, said safety measures will be put in place to protect vendors and fair goers, including glass screens for vendors and mandatory masks and social distancing.
“That will include a maximum number of people per acre at any one time,” Gipson told WAPT. “I will include all of our vendors and everybody wearing masks as they come through the gate, and that will include staying 6 feet away and lots of sanitizer everywhere.”
The Mississippi State Fair is scheduled from Oct. 7 through Oct. 18 in Jackson.
