Missy Gators crush Natchez 72-38 on Friday

Vicksburg High School girl’s basketball team defeated Natchez on Friday 72-38.

The Missy Gators struck hard in the first quarter to take a quick 19-11 lead.

Janiah Caples led things with 17 points, six steals, and four assists. Layla Carter dropped nine points with four steals while Kalia Bland added eight.

By halftime, the Missy Gators were up 42-23 as they continued to punish Natchez.

Ja’Na Colenburg snatched five rebounds to go along with her 11 points. Kiera James, Jelisa Tyler, and Rodrianna Hall scored six and Destini Sims added five.

The Missy Gators will host Warren Central on Saturday.
