Just one year ago, Vicksburg High School softball team was set to advance to the third round of the playoffs after defeating New Hope until the MHSAA ruled that game three must be replayed once a controversy erupted over game balls.

New Hope then defeated the Missy Gators in game three 9-5 to shorten VHS’ promising season.

Now, the Missy Gators are back and stronger than ever and are set to face New Hope once again.  Game one will be held Friday at the VHS softball field.

After winning the district title for the second year in a row, VHS earned a first round bye week then quickly made an example out of Ridgeland High School. Over the weekend, VHS defeating them 23-4 and 17-11 in the second round.

Friday’s game is quickly approaching. Fans are asked to wear their neon and glow sticks and pack the house in support of the Missy Gators.
